Kowa Six first rolls of film.

Analog, photo gear, tests

I bougt a Kowa six last year in August, I since had a difficult time but that had nothing to do with the camera. At least I think. You see them here in the order I took them, first is a bit blurry, had to get used to the shutter and the mirror slap. Also I squeezed the camera between the fence bars of the construction site. After the 11th shot the film jammed. Typical for this camera apparently. Otherwise I like the camera a lot. The lenses are top quality, focusing is much easier than with the Rolleiflex. Film is Kodak Gold 200, lab developed, Negative lab pro conversion to positive.

After the film got stuck I rushed home to unload it in total darkness, otherwise I would probably have ruined all the shots. I then changed lenses (55 to 85 mm) for another roll. This time Kodak Portra 160, same process. Here I discovered that in this lens the shutter gets stuck on slow shutter speeds. Took me a few shots to figure out what happened.

Initially I had thought of re-selling the camera, but the 55 mm lens is a bonus, I don’t have wide angle lenses on any of my medium format camera’s. I’ll probably try to find out if I can fix the film transport problem and the shutter drag
